San Francisco Archdiocese agrees to $395 million settlement with clergy sex abuse survivors
A significant milestone for survivors.
The recently announced settlement involving the Archdiocese of San Francisco represents more than financial compensation. It also includes meaningful institutional reforms designed to increase transparency, strengthen child protection, and help prevent future abuse.
Justice Law Collaborative is honored to have represented nine of the survivors whose courage helped make this outcome possible.
While no legal resolution can erase the trauma survivors have endured, accountability matters. So does listening to survivors, acknowledging the truth, and creating meaningful change that protects future generations.
We are grateful to our clients for trusting us with their stories and remain committed to standing beside survivors in their pursuit of justice.

“Our clients showed remarkable courage by speaking the truth and demanding accountability. This settlement recognizes the importance of hearing survivors, confronting institutional failures, and implementing reforms that better protect children in the future. While the legal process cannot undo what happened, it can help create lasting change - and that is what so many survivors hope to achieve.
This settlement represents 530 survivors whose experiences can no longer be ignored. Justice Law Collaborative is honored to represent nine of those individuals. We are deeply grateful for the trust they placed in us and for the courage they demonstrated throughout this process. We hope this resolution not only provides a measure of accountability for the past, but also reinforces the responsibility of institutions to protect children and respond appropriately when abuse occurs.”
