Pamela Takefman, Esq

Associate/Attorney

Pamela Takefman joins Justice Law Collaborative from McAllister Olivarius (McO), where she was Of Counsel and Deputy Head of the Spiritual Misconduct practice, focused on bringing suits on behalf of plaintiffs alleging negligence, forced labor, and sex trafficking by religious communities and cults. At McO, Pamela developed a deep knowledge of the federal Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, state trafficking laws, defamation, and anti-SLAPP laws.

Prior to MCO, Pamela was a litigation associate at a large law firm in New York, where she represented clients in civil litigation proceedings at both state and federal court levels at all stages of litigation, including trial. While there, Pamela’s pro bono practice focused on feminism and social justice. She represented multiple domestic violence survivors in family court and has also been active in the fight for reproductive justice, including advocating on behalf of women of color, low-income women, and gender non-conforming people while representing Reproductive Justice groups in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Pamela graduated magna cum laude from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and was formerly Editor-in-Chief of Cardozo Law & Literature Journal and Symposia Editor of Cardozo Law Review. She was named a “Rising Star” by Superlawyer in 2019 and 2020 and “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers in America in 2021.
