In early May 2025, ESPN featured a powerful documentary, *“SAVE: The Katie Meyer Story,”* that follows the amazing life and tragic and untimely death of Stanford University student and former Lady Cardinal soccer co-captain Katie Meyer. Katie’s family, with support from Justice Law Collaborative and lead attorney Kim Dougherty, is aggressively pursuing accountability from the university for its harmful, punitive actions which negatively impacted her mental health.
Katie’s family has transformed their pain into purpose by creating Katie’s Save, a nonprofit that today is spotlighting the importance of mental wellness and pursuing beneficial legislative reforms to protect young adults across the country. ESPN's documentary delivers a transparent message: prioritize people over bureaucracy.
"SAVE: The Katie Meyer Story" is now streaming on ESPN+. Justice Law Collaborative's role in the Meyer family's fight for justice can be found here.
